Kadena's proprietary BFT-consensus protocol ScalableBFT achieves up to 8,000 TPS with latencies well below 100ms in real-world testing with 256 nodes. Kadena is the first private blockchain that can scale to thousands of nodes.

Smart Contracts in Pact

Finally, a smart contract language that is easy to use, safe by design, and offers the right features for bulletproof business logic: database focus with atomic transactions, human readable on-chain code, public-key authorization schemes, and great tooling.

Per-transaction symmetric encryption with forward secrecy and key rotation means Kadena transactions can be securely hidden from non-transacting participants, providing confidentiality without sacrificing the benefits of a blockchain.

The first performant private blockchain. And it scales.

The ScalableBFT consensus algorithm is the first credible alternative to Bitcoin-style mining for private distributed ledgers. Mining can scale to unlimited node counts, but is necessarily slow and costly – attempts to speed it up unavoidably sacrifice integrity for performance. Able to scale to thousands of nodes, Kadena represents a breakthrough in distributed systems.

Unparalleled speed. Rock‑solid security.

ScalableBFT outperforms other BFT consensus mechanisms by orders of magnitude, with up to 8,000 transactions per second on dedicated server hardware and latencies of 10-20ms. Kadena uses the fastest encryption available to ensure every single transaction is cryptographically verifiable, forever. Excellent CPU utilization means Kadena will eat up all the CPU you can throw at it.

Kadena Performance Results

Smarter, safer logic.
Smart Contracts in Pact.

Business-critical transactions require reliable, safe logic that can be verified independently on the ledger. At last, Pact provides a disciplined solution for authoring business solutions, informed by decades of database practice and language design, as well as the unique features that smart contracts on a blockchain demand. Pact also offers excellent tooling, making coding in Pact productive, safe, and fun.

Pact Tooling

Faster, better, safer.
Kadena + Haskell

Powered by Haskell, Kadena leverages incredible concurrency abstractions and cutting-edge libraries to make the impossible possible: massive parallelization of consensus workloads, assembly-optimized crypto, type-level representation of machine state. Airtight computational models and unmatched type-safety allow the Pact smart-contract language to stay safe. It’s why we’re ahead of the pack.
