Background

Stuart Popejoy is the Founder and CEO of Kadena LLC. Before Kadena, he led JPMorgan's Blockchain Center of Excellence, where he developed the bank’s blockchain infrastructure and created its open-source blockchain, Juno. In addition to his 15 years of experience in building high-performance trading systems and exchange infrastructure, Stuart also authored and developed Pact, a secure smart contract language with built-in formal verification.

Outside of tech, Stuart is an active musician, composer, and professional recording/mastering engineer in New York, known for using algorithmic techniques in composition. He holds a B.A. in Comparative Literature from UC Berkeley and has been featured in Forbes, Fortune, and Quartz.
